chessa arbiter commission

WHAT IS THE ASSOCIATION?

THE ARBITERS AND ORGANISERS ASSOCIATION DOES NOT EXIST ANY MORE.

Whereas the Arbiters and Organisers Commission is specifically called for and implemented via the Chessa constitution, the Association was a voluntary organisation, formed by the members, to which members choose to belong, be accountable and pay annual membership fees.

The Association, in summary, undertook the following
  • It had it's own management committee
  • It established it's own rules and procedures
  • It set annual membership fees payable by its members
  • It provided training materials and guidance to members as well as those wanting to write the examinations
  • It acted as a discussion platform and voice for members to Chessa and other relevant organisations
These roles have now all been taken over by the officially formed AOC and the Association therefore became redundant and ceased to exist.

Such an associatin many however be formed again by arbiters and organisers wishing to do so to form a Chessa independent voice and forum for arbiters in South Africa.
